Description:
The development of pressure injuries (formerly known as decubitus ulcers or bedsores) is a complex and multifactorial process. Loss of sensory perception, along with decreased mobility, are the two most important causes of pressure injuries. Acute care patients with significantly reduced mobility, and patients in long term & continuing care, are those who are at highest risk for these injuries. We’re very pleased to be presenting this two-part webinar on Pressure Injury Insights where in Part A, we’ll explore how to: carefully assess the injury and evaluate the associated risks; gauge healing progress; understand & apply a staging system in your clinical setting; and identify obstacles to healing & how to address them. In Part B we’ll identify: strategies to prevent pressure injuries; techniques to manage them; offloading equipment; resources to develop a comprehensive Pressure Injury Program for your setting, and the benefits of an interprofessional approach. Join our Wound Care Specialist Corey Heerschap, MScCH, BScN, RN, NSWOC, WOCC(C), IIWCC, CMP for this valuable two-part webinar!
